I have several questions regarding installation. This is the first time I'm installing Mac OS on Hackintosh, so I'm not sure about some procedures.

First of all, this is my configuration: E6600, P5W DH Deluxe, 2x320GB Barracuda SATAII, 2x1GB 800MHz DDR2, XFX 7900GS, Pioneer DVR-111D.

Here's the deal - I have WinXP installed on my first 320GB Barracuda, on C: partition (I have two additional partitions on that disk, all NTFS). I have another 320GB Barracuda, still entirely unallocated. Drives are in "Standard IDE" mode, not AHCI. I'm planning to install OSX on my second drive. I'm also planning to make Photoshop scratch disk partition on that drive, and I would like to make it first partition. Now, how should I partition my 2nd Barracuda? I'm asking this because I've read this: "Use Partition Magic or another partitioning program such as Acronis Suite to resize a PRIMARY partition so that you have at least 6700 megabytes of unallocated disk space before any logical partition". Does that means that my first partition should be OSX partition? Also, how big should that partition be (for OS and apps, and some data? I was thinking about 50GB, is that ok?)

Also, I've read that I have to disable one Conroe core for OSX install, is that correct? (here's the quote: "If you have a dual core cpu then you have to disable one core. You can do this in the Bios."). I'm really puzzled about this one...

I'm planning to install 10.4.8, is that ok, or should I install older version, and then upgrade?

Do you have any other tips for first-time installation, some precautions, advices etc.

Thanks
