archer75
I used the 10.4.8 JAS install disc. Everything went fine but it won't boot. It just goes straight into windows with no errors at all. I have it installed on it's own hard drive. I have no idea on how to get it to boot. Any ideas? Rammjet
Try selecting the hard drive in BIOS and set it to boot first. Some BIOS' let you select a hard drive on the fly by pressing (once) F8 during the POST. If you set up the hard drive properly and installed properly, it will boot. archer75
Ok, I did that and it started the boot process. However in the middle of it it told me to restart the computer. So I can't get past the apple logo screen. I had such high hopes too. Rammjet
During installation, what packages did you select in the Customize window? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=6330 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36289-new-install-wont-boot/#findComment-258255 Share on other sites
archer75
I just checked the Jas 10.4.8 box I didn't notice if there was more options there, I assumed by checking the main box it checked everything. I'll need to take a look at it agan. I do have an Intel Core 2 Duo, Radeon x1900xtx, soundblaster X-Fi and onboard azalia. Along with the DFI 975x board. Rammjet
You can't choose everything, they conflict. Some install different versions of the same drivers, so you end up with whatever was the last one installed. archer75
Unable to determine driver for this platform: ACPI That's what I get immediately following boot as i'm greeted with a kernel panic. I tried using -f -x -v for boot with no luck. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36289-new-install-wont-boot/#findComment-258390 Share on other sites
