I'm trying to disable SIP the official way (to avoid problems), which of course, requires booting into the recovery OS.

However, when I try booting up the Recovery OS, all seems to be going well until the Apple and progress bar disappear.  Then, all I've got is a blank display in which I can do absolutely nothing.

I had to reinstall Mojave a few months ago because of major, unrecoverable filesystem corruption due to a crash, and the Recovery OS has been like this ever since (the Recovery OS worked like normal before the crash).  I've tried adjusting some settings (which have minimal or no effect on the main Mojave install, which boots and runs normally), but the config is otherwise the same as before.  I could try an older, backup copy, maybe.  Haven't done that yet.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

p.s.,  The build in my signature is out of date.  I have since upgraded to a Gigabyte GA-Z370P-D3 and Intel Core i5-9600K.  Same RAM, though.

Correcting outdated system build info

@CC_333, The "official way" is only for original Apple devices. For Hackintosh, SIP is disabled through the OpenCore settings.

Ah, I see.  I've tried it Apple's way before, and it *worked*, but I guess it's unsupported, and as such shouldn't be relied upon.

I'll just disable it in my config then.  What flag should I use? 0xFF?

I would still like to know why the Recovery OS isn't working and how to fix it, though.

Oh, and I use Clover.  I know I should probably use OpenCore because it's newer and better, but Clover's been working perfectly for me, so why mess with it?
