swordsx48
Hi hope all are well! Filevault got turned on in an update to sequoia. Now it's stuck on estimating time remaining Tried fdesetup disable, gives -69595. Tried it in recovery, same thing. Tried fdesetup sync, updating preboot volume, nothing. It's been a few days now so it definitely needs to be kickstarted Heard about the whole apfs_aligned.efi.efi or deal, which I happily added in and disabled Jumpstart. Seems nothing changed. Gonna try resetting the efi as well. But no juice. Any ideas? swordsx48
Right. I am no longer seeing a percentage. It's done. Diskutil apfs list just says filevault "yes" no more percentage. swordsx48
FOUND IT!!! the solution is here https://github.com/chrisdodgers/Fix_Fenvi-T919_FileVault_macOS_Sequoia_15.x allowing filevault to work with lowered SIP! found it after I had wiped the drive. but hey, solved! I didnt get to test it but I'm pretty sure that was it cause I had a lowered / disabled SIP Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362439-filevault-enabled-itself-during-sequoia-update-now-stuck-on-estimating-time-remaining/#findComment-2847925 Share on other sites
LockDown
we were expecting you already disabled SIP Anyways glad you figured it out 👍 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362439-filevault-enabled-itself-during-sequoia-update-now-stuck-on-estimating-time-remaining/#findComment-2847926 Share on other sites
swordsx48
Right, that was the issue, the disabled sip. It needs to be enabled or patched to enable filevault 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362439-filevault-enabled-itself-during-sequoia-update-now-stuck-on-estimating-time-remaining/#findComment-2847927 Share on other sites
