Hi everyone, I need some help regarding macOS installation.
I’m trying to install macOS 12 Monterey, but I’m not sure if my PC hardware is compatible. These are my specs:
CPU: Intel Core i3-12100F
Motherboard: ASUS H610M-A D4
RAM: 16GB
GPU: MSI GTX 1660 Ti
I’d like to ask:
What are the minimum hardware requirements to install macOS Monterey (12.x)?
Has anyone successfully installed a newer macOS version with similar hardware?
If so, does everything work properly (USB, audio, sleep, etc.)?
I tried once but it often freezes and I couldn’t find a working audio driver — does anyone know a working kext or fix for audio?

Hi, @xplisit

It is not possible to use the MSI GTX 1660 Ti with macOS. This graphics card is based on NVIDIA’s Turing architecture, which has never been supported by macOS and has no compatible drivers. Neither official Apple drivers nor NVIDIA Web Drivers exist for this GPU, and tools such as OpenCore Legacy Patcher cannot add support where no macOS driver framework is available.

Furthermore, since the processor in this system does not include a supported integrated graphics unit, there is no alternative GPU available for macOS to use. As a result, this computer is not suitable for installing or running any version of macOS.
