Modmike
I've spent close to 60 hours chasing down an annoying issue with opencore 1.0.06 System UUID on a Z390 running Sequoia. I used GenSMBIOS to generate serials and checked them. Every time I clear NVRAM, it writes a totally different UUID to hardware. I tried generating a few times and the hard ware UUID in system report changes, but never the same thong A little history: It worked great for a full year until I borked it doing a Tahoe install with model change to boot. I formatted the disk, reinstalled, then restored my backup. Any thoughts? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362379-mismatched-uuid/ Share on other sites
verdazil
@Modmike, Set a fixed SystemUUID in PlatformInfo → Generic. Do not leave it empty and do not regenerate it after setup. Ensure UpdateSMBIOSMode = Create. Set UseRawUuidEncoding = YES. Keep SystemProductName, MLB, and SystemSerialNumber constant once configured. Set PlatformInfo → Automatic = YES. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362379-mismatched-uuid/#findComment-2847430 Share on other sites
Modmike
The thing is, if I regenerate the serials, it WILL update the system, just with a different value, whether or not I use rawuuidencoding. Could this have anything to do with preboot? Should I rebuild it? I don't think it has anything to do with it but after 80 hours, I'm desperate. I've added my config in case anyone wants to validate it. I changed the serials of course. You may notice a few extra Kexts in there, I am still playing around with optimization.
