STLVNUB Posted December 27, 2025 Share Posted December 27, 2025 Hi All I've Started A New Project What It Does Is Taking An MP3 File Of Say Your Favourite Song And Seeing How Long And Big The Song And MP3 Will Be. I'm Using Audacity To S T R E T C H The Song Length And The Side Effect Is Naturally A Very BIG MP3 File For Example: I Took One Of My Favourite The Killers Song The Rising Tide I Loaded It Into Audacity Original File Size 6.3MB Original Time Length 4m 17s What I Basically Did Was Copy Paste First Off Copy, Move To End Of File Past repeat till it errors out the results are VERY surprising New Size, And That's MINIMUM Size As It Would Have Taken Weeks If Not Months To Save It So New Size 62.13GB, Yes GigaBytes New Time 34 Hours, 38 Minutes Currently Doing Mr Brightside 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362145-stretching-the-boundaries-of-mp3-files-and-there-songs/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

STLVNUB Posted December 28, 2025 Author Share Posted December 28, 2025 This Is The RESULTS Of My Big File Experiment Head Over Heals Note; There Are Two Versions I'm Using The One From The Original CD NOT THE CUT DOWN VERSION, WHICH I HATE Original MP3 Size 5.4 MegaBytes Play Time 5:02 Cloned MP3 Progress Bar Around One Half Inch Say About 1/8th Size Of The Progress Bar Time Left 85 Hours Size 80.63 GigaBytes Play Time 1073:21:33 Hmm The Play Time Is HUGE I ASSUME The 1074 is still in hours That means it will play for 44 3/4 DAYS!!!
