sims
Hello InsanelyMac community, After an incredible run from 2013 to Last Week, I have finally retired my trusty old Hackintosh and built a new one. I'm creating this topic to share the success/help and details of my new machine, but first, I wanted to pay a small tribute to the build that served me faithfully for over 12 years. A Long Journey: My Z77 Build (2013-2025) This machine was my daily driver for more than a decade, taking me from OS X to macOS. It's a testament to how long a well-chosen Hackintosh can last. MB: MSI Z77A-G45 Thunderbolt CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3770 (Ivy Bridge) Memory: Started with 8GB, later upgraded to 24GB DDR3 Video: Initially used the integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics. To keep up with modern macOS, I later upgraded to a modded AMD Radeon RX 580 2048SP. Bootloader: Started with Clover for the early years and eventually migrated to OpenCore for the best compatibility with recent macOS versions. OS History: This machine ran everything from OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion all the way up to macOS Sonoma. It was a fantastic and reliable machine. Now, onto the main event: my new build for 2025 The New Build: MSI B760 GAMING PLUS WIFI i7-14700 Rx580 2048sp 8gb Modded rx580 Hardware MB: MSI B760 GAMING PLUS WIFI CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-14700 Chipset: Intel B760 Memory: 32GB DDR5 RAM 5600MHz Video: AMD Radeon RX 580 2048SP (Modded to standard RX 580 firmware) Monitor: Dual Monitor Setup SSD / HDD: 512GB NVMe M.2(Tahoe) , 3x1TB SATA SSD 1x1TB NVMe for Win 11 WiFi / Bluetooth: Onboard Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 LAN: Realtek® RTL8125BG 2.5G LAN Audio: Realtek ALC897 Codec Mac model: iMac20,1 macOS version tested: [Sequoia 15.0, Tahoe Beta 6] What Works? Has anyone with this codec found a working layout-id or required device properties for macOS Tahoe? Wi-Fi Stability (Intel AX211): The Wi-Fi works with itlwm.kext and Heliport but no ip adresses from dhcp, Are there specific settings? Verifying CPU Performance (i7-14700): How can I best verify that macOS is managing my CPU correctly All 20 Core? i know that the name of cpu are not correct ( i can change it in the config.plist nvram ) I want to ensure it's idling at low frequencies and boosting properly under load. Thank you for reading, and thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
