Dear experts, I need your help—my Hackintosh is having issues again, and hardware decoding is not supported.

Hello experts, I managed to get VDA decoding working by tinkering with a bunch of GPU parameters, but once I get into the system, after using it for a while, I can't open any apps—the icons just keep bouncing. I can only see the desktop and create new folders, but can't access anything else. Does anyone know how to fix this? Also, how can I enable hardware decoding for HEVC and H.264?

I sincerely beg the experts for help.

Since my EFI is 20MB and I can't upload it, I've uploaded the config.plist file instead. I hope experts can help me—my graphics card is PRO DUO (Fiji), with a Fiji GPU core (same as Fury), and my CPU is AMD 5600X.

嗨,查看更多 EFI 文件夹文件可能会更有帮助。

尝试删除其中的 Resources 文件夹,然后压缩/压缩 EFI 文件夹并发布到此处,以便我们可以仔细检查其中的所有重要文件。

干杯。

Thank you for your reply! I have uploaded my EFI files. Thanks again!

Unfortunately your EFI cannot be opened by me as you've compressed as EFI.rar, it is the wrong format.

Try again but this time as EFI.ZIP. Cheers.

Good morning, my friend. Thank you for your reply. I have re-uploaded the EFI, but because the file was too large, I had to delete RealtekRTL8111.kext and OpenCore.efi. I hope this won't affect the file. Thank you again.EFI.zip

Try this EFI it's kinda large..so upload size is only 10mb https://limewire.com/d/T4r18#kjc7v1tV3F

Thank you very much for the EFI file you provided. I'm not sure if there's a problem with my copying method—after multiple attempts to replace this EFI, my computer failed to boot.

Replace whatevergreen with NootedRed kext https://chefkissinc.github.io/applehax/nootedred/ or try this EFI..i have disabled the Wifi Kexts https://www.transfernow.net/dl/202505031lqgCXZW

@1007398368 Hi it would be helpful if we could see at a glance your machine's full specs.

You need to provide these details in your signature as they are a necessary requirement when you have a query or seeking aid to a problem.

As I am in the dark about your specs, I have taken a stab in the dark purely based on your uploaded EFI Folder and made a few edits.

I don't know if the changes I made will be successful, hopefully they will be. I suggest try this EFI Folder and see if the result is favorable.

Don't forget to clean the NvRAM then boot off this EFI.

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply, dear eSaF. I have tried your EFI file, but unfortunately, it didn’t make any difference. I don’t know where the problem lies. I have reset the NvRAM. The following is my computer configuration:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6 - Core, 7nm
Memory: 32 GB (Corsair DDR4 3600MHz 32GB)
Video Card: AMD Radeon Pro Duo (8 GB / AMD)
Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X570 - PLUS (X570 chipset)
Monitor: LHC3400 A34QG (34 inches)
Primary Hard Drive: Asgard AN2 1T NVMe - M.2 / 80 (1024 GB / Solid State Drive)
Network Card: Realtek RTL8168 / 8111 / 8112 Gigabit Ethernet Controller / ASUS
Sound Card: Generic AB13X USB Audio (Generic AB13X USB Audio)

Thank you for your reply, including the EFI file you provided—thank you, ichelash. But this doesn't seem to have changed anything. My computer configuration is as follows, and it doesn’t seem to support the NootedRed kext...
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core, 7nm
Memory: 32 GB (Corsair DDR4 3600MHz 32GB)
Video Card: AMD Radeon Pro Duo (8 GB / AMD)
Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (X570 chipset)
Monitor: LHC3400 A34QG (34 inches)
Primary Hard Drive: Asgard AN2 1T NVMe-M.2 / 80 (1024 GB / Solid State Drive)
Network Card: Realtek RTL8168/8111/8112 Gigabit Ethernet Controller / ASUS

As far as I know Radeon Pro Duo combines two GPUs to increase performance. The question is whether macOS will run this combination.

Ok this is my last throw of the dice with this one.

I took this example from here - https://github.com/topics/hackintosh?o=desc&s=updated - with specs as close as possible to your own.

I have updated the files and kexts within to the latest versions so hope you'd have better result.

This EFI contains only the bare necessary files to hopefully get you started.

If proved to be stable, you'll have to add other functions as needed.

Again clean NvRAM and see if result is favorable. Good luck.

PS - Check BIOS Settings as this:

Disable Bios Config

  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Boot >> Fast Boot = Disabled.
  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Boot >> Secure Boot >> OS Type = Other OS (This disable secure boot).
  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Advanced >> PCI Subsystem Settings >> Resize Bar Suport = Disabled.
  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Advanced >> Onboard Devices Configuration >> Serial Port Configuration >> Serial Port = Disabled.
  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Boot >> CSM (Compatibillity Support Module) >> Launch CSM = Disabled.

Enable Bios Config

  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Advanced >> PCI Subsystem Settings >> Above 4G Decoding = Enabled.
  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Advanced >> USB Configuration >> XHCI Hand-Off = Enabled.
  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Advanced >> SATA Configuration >> Sata Mode = AHCI.

(Optional to Force Memory Ram use 3200MHz)

  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Ai Tweaker >> Ai Overclock Tuner = D.O.C.P.
  • Advanced Mode (F7) >> Ai Tweaker >> D.O.C.P. = DDR4-3200.

Save Changes & Exit (F10).

Well, it still doesn't support hardware acceleration for my graphics card—I don't know if it's too old. But thank you very much for your help regardless.

Yes, it's a dual-GPU single-card graphics card that also offers improvements for Mac, similar to Apple's Pro Vega II Duo.

I found a way to enable VDA decoding: it's because I added the parameter enable-gva-support=1. This parameter causes my Hackintosh to crash, but if I remove it, VDA decoding isn't supported.
