Νίκος Ζαχαράκης ΙΙ
Good evening. I managed to set up my Hackintoosh with opencore but I'm facing two problems. 1 Windows changes the time as soon as I enter to install macOS. 2 When macOS was installed and I went to select my country, the computer rebooted abruptly without any warning. The screen just went black, the computer turned off and then turned back on Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360790-problem-with-dualboot-windows-11-and-macos/ Share on other sites
Jake Brown
Hey! Nice job getting OpenCore up and running — that's already half the battle. The time issue is super common in dual boots. Windows uses local time by default, while macOS uses UTC. You can fix it either by telling Windows to use UTC (via a registry tweak) or by making macOS use local time, but I’d recommend changing the Windows setting: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation] "RealTimeIsUniversal"=dword:00000001 Just reboot after applying it. The sudden reboot during macOS setup could be a few things — often GPU-related or a quirk in your config.plist (like USB mapping or SMBIOS). Check your EFI logs and maybe post your specs + EFI folder (if you're okay with that), people here are usually happy to take a quick look. Good luck — you’re close! Olivia Harrison
I remember running into something super similar when I first tried dual booting with OpenCore. The time thing is annoying but easy to fix - that registry change in Windows did the trick for me. The reboot during macOS setup sounds like it could be a small config issue, maybe something with USB or the EFI.
