On my Presario, I finally got Snow Leopard and the GMA to cooperate, but now I don't have audio. I tried every ALC888 codec in AppleALC, and I also tried VoodooHDA, but neither of them worked, no output devices were detected. Does anyone have any idea on how to get the ALC888 working in Snow Leopard? config.plist is attached.config.plist

I had HPET Patches at one point and they didn't work sadly, I believe both AppleALC and VoodooHDA are just incompatible with my macOS version (AppleALC's wiki says you need at least Mavericks for the ALC888)

@Lost-Entrepreneur439, everything is compatible. I tried all the available sound settings (for the 3rd computer on my list) and only the option I recommended led to success.

That is a much newer computer. Fyi, I am on Snow Leopard, a release of Mac OS X from 2009.

voodoohda should work. But let me remind you that newer versions are not maverick's compatible

Try old versions from here

I tried v289, it didn't work, and there were some errors relating to it in the verbose log.

Although I've had no success with AppleALC, VoodooHDA had alway worked on my old machines.

Pentium 4 524 with ALC883 on Leopard

Core2 Duo with ALC888 on Leopard

IIRC, I've had to install VoodooHDA to S/L/E to get it working.
