Lost-Entrepreneur439
On my Presario, I finally got Snow Leopard and the GMA to cooperate, but now I don't have audio. I tried every ALC888 codec in AppleALC, and I also tried VoodooHDA, but neither of them worked, no output devices were detected. Does anyone have any idea on how to get the ALC888 working in Snow Leopard? config.plist is attached.config.plist Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360623-how-do-i-get-my-realtek-alc888-working-in-snow-leopard/ Share on other sites

verdazil
@Lost-Entrepreneur439, everything is compatible. I tried all the available sound settings (for the 3rd computer on my list) and only the option I recommended led to success. LockDown
voodoohda should work. But let me remind you that newer versions are not maverick's compatible Try old versions from here Edited February 2 by LockDown Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360623-how-do-i-get-my-realtek-alc888-working-in-snow-leopard/#findComment-2830171 Share on other sites

Fyi, I am on Snow Leopard, a release of Mac OS X from 2009. LockDown
install vodoohda in /S/L/E & fix permission Edited February 2 by LockDown Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360623-how-do-i-get-my-realtek-alc888-working-in-snow-leopard/#findComment-2830176 Share on other sites
FirstTimeCustomac
Although I've had no success with AppleALC, VoodooHDA had alway worked on my old machines. Pentium 4 524 with ALC883 on Leopard Core2 Duo with ALC888 on Leopard IIRC, I've had to install VoodooHDA to S/L/E to get it working. Lost-Entrepreneur439
Turns out I had to use this VoodooHDA - https://github.com/khronokernel/Legacy-Kexts/blob/master/FAT/Zip/VoodooHDA.kext.zip That one worked, even when injecting via OpenCore.
