Kukuweia
I cannot reply to this topic "Install windows on Mac (No bootcamp)" and it seems I can only post here. I want to install Windows 11 23H2 on a Macbook Pro 2012 9,2 under Catalina. I am using a HDMI connection to an external monitor, because the backlight is defect. I know little about Macs, this my first one which I only got a few weeks ago. I followed the instruction in the video for installing Windows with UEFI until the installation was complete. I did not continue to make a backup as I wanted to do a test first. I choose Windows 11 as a boot option. After restarting I am getting this error message: No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key. What did I miss or do wrong? Is it possible that after restarting something happens invisible on the internal display which disappears before with a delay there is something visible on the external monitor? I could be wrong, but your Macbook Pro 2012 9.2 still has legacy bios. You should select the "Install Windows legacy boot" option and read the installation instructions. Or install the Open Core bootloader and run Windows UEFI through it. Be prepared for problems with audio drivers. I recommend that you first Google to find out about installing Windows on your laptop. Rufus requires a Windows system, it does not work on MacOS. Then it’s better to use this for the installation flash drive - https://github.com/TechUnRestricted/WinDiskWriter 3 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360551-problems-with-windows-install_v621zip/#findComment-2829896 Share on other sites
