AlexCF
I connect an external display and it is recognized so I can work with two screens. Then I connect a mouse and keyboard to my macbook pro 2017 via a USB hub and they work fine too. However, if I close the lid of my macbook it goes to sleep and doesn't respond to key presses or the mouse at all Maybe something additional needs to be configured? Or can't the USB hub be used in this mode? AlexCF
Upd: The MacBook required a power adapter to work in this mode. Everything is working now. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360331-how-can-i-use-macbook-with-external-display-and-closed-lid/#findComment-2828557 Share on other sites
miliuco
@AlexCF You are right, most of laptops (no only Apple) require to have the power cable connected to be able to send the screen to an external display with the lid closed.
