I've tried everything I can think of but keeps boot looping on a Lenovo T470s i7-7600U.

I would be very grateful if someone could look at my log and suggest some things to try, I'm out of ideas.

Log

Things I've tried:

  • A minimal EFI using latest Opencore 1.0.1 & guide for Kaby-Lake, no secure boot, didn't go anywhere, not sure why because it was a release build. I think maybe a value in config.plist was the wrong type or something.
  • Copied an EFI I found on github (KawaiiGirl2001) for a T470 but seems to be quite different hardware. First tried with secure boot with my own keys, got to the install screen once but was in Russian, then after that "Security Violation". So tried switching Secure Boot off and it started installing. Got about 30% of the way through then started boot looping to the installer.
  • The copied EFI was fairly well stuffed full of SSDTs & kexts and figured I didn't need half of them based on the first guide and other things I found, so started paring it back towards what I had originally. Haven't succeeded any further other than get a log.
  • Have tried tweaking SSDTs, kexts, and lots of things in config.plist, mainly around HD620 GPU and NVMe because that's what the errors seem to be.
  • I'm fairly confident now that it's not the GFX because I checked some values against device manager in windows and seems to be right, and I've tried lots of combinations of device settings which didn't make much difference. It now hangs rather than boot loops but think that's because I changed some debug settings to make it halt instead of reboot.
  • I'm thinking it's storage/NVMe based because the log stops being written (lots of zeros) (USB stick) and the errors I get onscreen seem to be NVMe. Yes I have the NVMeFix.
  • Maybe it's USB... I'm using the USBToolbox and a map generated in Windows

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

EDIT:

Here's a log from the first very sparse EFI I built and replaced with Debug versions

An update on this. It turns out I have a Samsung PM981 NVMe SSD which apparently has major issues so will replace that on the T470s and hopefully all will be okay.

Also note on the T470s that the M.2 2242 length SATA port which is meant for a WWAN card doesn't support an SSD. It shows in linux but as a zero byte read-only drive. It seems to be attached as USB.

I'm now having much more success on a Lenovo Yoga 460... this could be the first ever MacBook with a touchscreen and a stylus, and the stylus works! You have to press pretty hard to draw on the screen though!

I'll report back on the Yoga 460, there is at least one non-obvious change I had to make.
