GujuLvr Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 This is frist time i installed Mac on ma AMD machine I installed 10-4.5 jas ss2 amd+intel and i downloaded 10-4-8 comboupdate kerenl somethign? how do i install dat? can you also please tell me where can i get ma Eathernet driver or soemthign cuz its not connecting to internet? Rammjet Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 Combo update - in OSX, put the .dmg file you downloaded on your Desktop. Double-click the .dmg file. Inside the .dmg file is an installer .pkg file. Double-click the .pkg file and follow the instructions to install. Rammjet Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 can someone pleasee help? What is the exact name of the 10.4.8 update? I'm not aware of any updates on an iso. Please enlighten me. If you burn an OSX install iso and then look at it in Windows, you will see a list of "boot" files. These are on a section that is formatted for DOS. The rest of the iso is formatted for Mac (HFS+) and Windows cannot read that section without TransMac or MacDrive. Rammjet Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 As you can see by the name, "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.SSE2.SemtheX.Beta9.pkg.zip", if you unzip the file, it becomes a .pkg file. This is the installer file I was talking about. Double-clicking the .pkg file should start the Installer.app and start installing from the .pkg file. P.S. i cant play any video eaither!
