terrordemon
i have an opteron 170 OC'ed to 2.7ghz right now the osx install file i have is "10.4.6.install.dvd.iso" (i think this is the jas one?) cpu-z says that my cpu is SSE3, so i downloaded "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.SSE3.Only.Combo.Update" but... i read on the 10.4.6 hardware compatibility list on the wiki that the kernel panics when installed as a SSE3, but not SSE2 does anyone have any verification of this? will i be able to install with the files that i have? EDIT: full specs: opteron 170 @ 2.7ghz (1.45v) 2gig ddr ram @ 245 mhz (g.skill HZ) BFG 7800 GT Pci-E DFI nf4 Ultra-D 74 gig raptor (windows partition) 250 gig sata (windows data partition) IDE drive to get (for osx) one more question, is there any way for osx on 1 drive to access and use the files on another hard drive partitioned for windows? macgirl
SSE3 Kernel does not work on AMD in NATIVE. But if you install 10.4.8 the kernel works with SSE3 flawlessly.
