dj_raw
Hello Guy's, I'm new here and i've a little problem I've recently downloaded this image JaS.10.4.8.Intel.SSE3.Only.Install.DVD.iso and burned it with Nero (as Image), but every time when i try to boot this image i get the Grey/White Apple Background with the rotating circle, and after a minute another circle with a line appears in the middle of the screen and after that nothing happens, i just have to reboot my pc. I've also tried to boot it with the -v mode but also with no success... Here are some Screenshots I followed this guide http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=11339, step by step, i've also tried to disable/remove Acronis OS Selector but with no success on the boot My System: Windows XP Pro Sp2 Intel Pentium D 920@2,8ghz (Presler) ASRock 775Dual-880Pro with AC97 Onboard Sound 1Gb DDR2-533 G.Skill Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 256MB 19Gb Primary FAT32 Partition for MAC OS X Thanks in advance greetings dj_raw Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35873-boot-problems-with-jas1048intelsse3onlyinstalldvd/ Share on other sites
apmos
The same for me here. After installing 10.4.8 the situation is the same. If I type -v at boot, it hangs on "still waiting for root device". My hardware is ASRock 945G-DVI with P4 805 and installing on a PATA drive. I tried every possible combination of packages in install and it keeps locking on "waiting for root device" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35873-boot-problems-with-jas1048intelsse3onlyinstalldvd/#findComment-255711 Share on other sites
Rammjet
@dj_raw: Your problem is booting the DVD. It may have to do with your VIA chipset. Try installing using VMWare through Windows to your hard drive. You shouldn't need to use VMWare after installation. Choose options carefully in the Customize window of the installer. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=11314 Also, read through this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=25533 @apmos: Your problem is after installation. Try choosing the following in Customize: JaS Combo update, Intel SSE3 Semthex, 10.4.4 LoginWindow. If that fails, try adding the 10.4.8 VIA.ULi SATA Support. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=6330 Edited December 15, 2006 by Rammjet Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35873-boot-problems-with-jas1048intelsse3onlyinstalldvd/#findComment-255727 Share on other sites
thestevo
I don't pretend to know as much as Rammjet, haha, I'm just a noob. But, I have a 775DUAL-VSTA and mine didn't work with the private seed. I downloaded the reseed and tried that, worked fine. So, I don't know which your using, but obviously something was changed between the two and it might make a difference if you have the early one.
