valorisa
Hello, I have the same problem that you. The Safari Preferences doesn't work since today. I don't understand why... An idea to solve this ? Valorisa Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3581-safari-preferences-lost-access/#findComment-22695 Share on other sites
macgirl
Maybe the preferences window is hidden somewhere, use Expose (F9 to see all windows at once). Technobob
The problem only happens when I'm running 2.0.1 (412.5) PPC Build but works fine in the version that came with x86. Technobob
If I run the version that came with Mac x86 in Rosetta it will do the same thing. Here is what console reports when I try to open preferences. 2005-10-18 00:40:42.634 Safari[335] ### Error:-14950 File:AdminDirectoryService.m Line:51 2005-10-18 00:40:42.635 Safari[335] ### Error:-14071 File:AdminDirectoryService.m Line:112 2005-10-18 00:40:42.641 Safari[335] *** -[NSPlaceholderString initWithString:]: nil argument Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3581-safari-preferences-lost-access/#findComment-22775 Share on other sites
valorisa
Hello, OK OK, there is a solution : In fact, there is a bug in Safari when you choose the option Block Pop-Up Windows because after that the option Preferences doesn't work. So you have to remove ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist to the Trash and restart Mac OS X. Try also in Safari the option "Reset Safari...". Let's know the result.
