Alexandru Grecu
Hello everyone! Some day ago, a video from YT came on with Mac Os on any laptop, etc, you know.. I heard of this before but never tried. I decided myself to try it on my laptop (the one in the signature). I know it will sound cliche but it is really what happened. I tried almost everything i found on google, tutorials, youtube videos, dortania, the forum that you don't like (😂), this forum, with a lot of Mac OS versions like High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina. I used Clover and as well OpenCore. Tried a lot of configs. In all of my tries, either won't boot, either the Mac Os install disk did not appear in boot menu, in few words a lot of 💩. Right now, i think i managed some things, I made a CLOVER build, based on Dortania tutorial in combination with Mojave/Catalina i got stuck on but menu with this error: AppleUSBXHCI: unsupported speed mantissa. About bios settings i have: VT-d off; Secure boot off; i tried to search XHCI handoff but failed, HP says that is driver related and can't be modified; iGPU alone selected; 128 iGPU memory. About kexts, i first used only the required ones (VirtualSMC, WhatEverGreen and Lilu), still same error, then i tried to add USBInjectAll and XHCI unsuported kext, still same error. I attached the actual EFI folder. I read about a patch for this situation but they it's only for Gigabyte motherboards.. Please don't shot me, i'm trying for 4 days now to manage this install, i know i didn't studied enough, but i really have no time, work everywhere in my schedule. Thanks a lot, in advance, for your time. Slice
You should disable Nvidia in BIOS. It is not supported in recent macOS. It was supported in 10.13 HighSierra but as main card not as Optimus. Optimus technology any way should be disabled. HP laptop usually requires KernelLapic patch. Exclude all USB kext and show me Clover's preboot.log which can be obtained by F2 in Clover GUI. The log will contain usefull information what is happen and why. So, the nvidia graphic card was disabled in bios from the start (i can't see it in device info in windows, neither in right click on desktop); about KernelLapic, i don't know/heard anything about it. The preboot.log was created with only the 3 kexts required (WhatEverGreen, Lilu, VirtualSMC). I saw something shady in preboot.log, but i will let an "expert" to interpret it preboot.log Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/357633-cant-pass-boot-screen-appleusbxhci-unsupported-speed-mantissa/#findComment-2811210 Share on other sites
Slice
Why Mojave? I afraid your USB controller will be supported since Catalina or later. Alexandru Grecu
Ok. Today i tried something else. I tried to install Big Sur with mac recovery but, now, i’m stuck at install menu because the installer needs an internet connection. My laptop does not have an RJ connector, only wifi. I tried with Airportltlwm and my wifi did not shown up on mac installer. After that, i tried with the other kext intlwm, same thing… I cant get it to work, but the wifi card is compatible, Intel Wireless AC 9560 160mh Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/357633-cant-pass-boot-screen-appleusbxhci-unsupported-speed-mantissa/#findComment-2811248 Share on other sites
Slice
You really need internet connection. As you have no RJ then you should get compatible WiFi. May be you can get USB LAN or USB WiFi also with problems.
