.zero
I can't seem to boot off either JAS 10.4.7 iso repack or JAS SSE3 intel 10.4.8 I managed to get 10.4.7 running and installed to a native partition in VMware. It boots to the desktop and I can do whatever (albeit slowly) after setting the partition on active, I would boot and darwin would just hang at "using x buffers..." After fiddling around with my bios (disabling everything that said acpi, hyperthreading) I managed to get it to panic after enabling the CPUID MAX. I took a picture of the panic and attached it When I installed in VMware, I chose the Intel Combo Update and INTEL.SS3 My rig is P4 2.8e Prescott Asustek P4P800s Intel 848P MCH chipset Intel ICH5 Don't know if anything else is needed. Can anyone make any sense of the panic? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35758-vmware-boots-native-hangs/ Share on other sites
.zero
After trying 10.4.6, 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 JAS images, 4.6 and 4.7 both hang at the same line (ACPI CA 2005....) 10.4.8 goes a couple of lines farther, going to 'using x read buffers and headers' Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35758-vmware-boots-native-hangs/#findComment-255964 Share on other sites
Rammjet
Try booting with HyperThreading turned off in BIOS, or boot OSX with option: cpus=1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35758-vmware-boots-native-hangs/#findComment-255986 Share on other sites
