hazkid
I had this exact setup with leopard 9A283 until I upgraded XP to Vista. Otherwise its the same. You have to run diskutil from the teminial and non-destructively partition your drive in to 3 parts. Basically, i followed a tutorial to triple boot Vista, Xp, and Tiger and just replaced Vista with leopard. I also use refit to boot, its easiar than apple's way. hazkid
http://www.macgeekery.com/tips/cli/nondest...esizing_volumes once you get the FAT32 partition, insert your XP disk and quick format it to NTFS. This will not work with a Vista disc. I intalled XP then UPGRADED to Vista. This is the exact tutorial I used. PS: Follow the steps well and don't skip any. Don't rush through them and give yourself an hour of time in case things go wrong. It took me about 20 min, but you never know. Always BACK UP!!! hazkid
buy external hard drive and use time machine (if you have Leopard) or carbon copy cloner (ccc). I did this immediately after seting up my iMac and before trasferring my data from my Powerbook. I did not have anything to lose. But i would suggest buying an external drive. ps:try looking at TigerDirect.com Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35708-triple-boot/#findComment-255027 Share on other sites
hazkid
the above tutorial is exactly what you need. If you lose all your data, please don't kill or injure me . GBK.Xscape
well i just wanted to have a triple boot on the internal drive w/ xp, tiger and leopard, any one know how to nondestructively do this? hazkid
this IS nondestructive. read the tutorial. If you accidentally type a command wrong, you could potentially wipe your drive. but if you're careful, probably nothing will happen to your data.
