Hi folks,

I've been trying to figure this out for 8 hours, so I would really appreciate your help.

The problem is that no HDMI Audio output is listed in System Preferences > Sound. Hackintool detects the Audio device from the discrete GPU, but it doesn't list a codec for it.

I'm running Mojave on OpenCore. The GPU is MSI Radeon RX560. Lilu, WhateverGreen and AppleALC are installed.

I would be really grateful if anyone could help me.

Running RX570 Here And Have HDMI Here

I'm Using alcid=12 As A Boot Argument

The Number You MIGHT Be Using May Be The

Reason For Not Having It ;)

God bess you.

I had a different layout-id key for the onboard sound card under Device Properties in config.plist, but nothing for the GPU device and nothing in the boot-args. I added the boot-arg you suggested and it worked fine.

Out of curiosity, how did you find the magic number 12? Did you try every number from 1 until...? The dortania guide suggests to check the github Wiki for the possible layouts corresponding to your codec; but I couldn't figure out what the codec was called in this case (for the audio chip on the RX570). In fact, I couldn't even find any info anywhere about what the audio chip is called and what its specs are. I wasn't even sure if RX570 was capable of outputting HDMI audio! There is 0 information online on this, so frustrating.

HDMI audio from RX570 is not needed  in AppleAPC and any layout. Just don't disturb it!

I know as I have it and tested.

I'm not sure what you mean by "is not needed". In my case I needed it as an alternative to the motherboard audio chip, so I had to find a way to make it available.

There is a problem of other drivers intervention into the same device. I think there is AppleALC intervention into HDMI audio device.

See my case. Internal audio (HDAS) is controlled by VoodooHDA and RX570 HDMI Audio controlled by the system's AppleGFXHDA.kext
