o Mike o
Maybe this belongs in hardware, but I put it here because its directly after doing an install of OS X, 10.4.8. My buddy installed it and then after the required restart, the system just forever hangs at the bios splash screen. I had this same problem yesterday; however, mine happened in mid use, I was just copying some files, the system froze, I restarted and it hung at the bios/boot "Detecting IDE drives..." I turned it off, let it sit for a few mins and then reseated the RAM. I suggested that he do the same, did it, and it didn't help. We also tried to reset the bios. Any other suggestions? I've read that this is likely a hardware problem with the memory, but what does that mean exactly...is it fixable, etc.? It happened right after an install or when OS X freezes and is forced to hard reboot. DFI boards. Corsair ram. Thanks guys, really need help here. Rammjet
Try pulling the power plug, open the computer and remove the battery and move the CMOS jumper. Wait a minute or two and put it all back - jumper, battery, case, plug. 0zero0
I have still the same problem. System does not load. I installed MacOSX_10.4.8DVD AMD SSE3 TEST 1, twice! Installed it from DVD. Had this after my first install, thoght it is this old harddrive. But tried another one, and system does not boot. It stands still at the Bios splash screen, nothing happens and i cannot go into BIOS. When i hit DEL about 10 times, after that motherboard gives me a very short Beep, by pressing keyboard. I plug my WinXP harddrive and it loads into Win. So system is OK. CMOS reset didn´t solve this problem. So what can it be? Did that install demage this drives?? I dont really think so, but how can i bring them back to be working? Tried to connect this drives after booting into BIOS, but that doesn´t work. System doesn´t recognize them. Any ideas?? 0zero0
Check the HCl at wiki.osx86project.org Ok, if u mean the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) so i didn´t really find my config, but there are some users here with this motherboard. Tried the OSX_1048_AMD_SSE3_PPF2.rar and same result.
