DMhackintosh
I've tried every method I can, but no luck. There is no full tutorial anywhere, even dortania. I think someone successfully used Opencore on X58.will guide you step by step, even if I checked with ocvalidate everything was fine. But still can't boot because it has X64 Exception Type. lga 1366 X58 OEM Ram : DDR3 16GB CPU : Xeon X5670 GPU : rx 570 8GB Edited March 10, 2023 by DMhackintosh 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/355938-how-to-use-opencore-on-legacy-bios-withttpswwwinsanelymaccomforumtopic355938-how-to-use-opencore-on-legacy-bios-with-x58-moboh-x58-mobo/ Share on other sites

Yes, I tried Legacy boot by creating boot file with BootInstall_X64.tool. But it will only show icon boot entries, but it will not boot into the installer page and boot loop Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/355938-how-to-use-opencore-on-legacy-bios-withttpswwwinsanelymaccomforumtopic355938-how-to-use-opencore-on-legacy-bios-with-x58-moboh-x58-mobo/#findComment-2802485 Share on other sites

I can confirm I've always needed that driver to boot my X58s, and I can also confirm Opencore works on those. I switched to Opencore a few years ago with Big Sur and have since updated to Monterey and trialing Ventura on one of them. I mostly followed https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/config-HEDT/nehalem.html#starting-point as I have Xeons X5675 and X5690 but that would also work for an i7 920 Edited November 22, 2023 by Capsule 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/355938-how-to-use-opencore-on-legacy-bios-withttpswwwinsanelymaccomforumtopic355938-how-to-use-opencore-on-legacy-bios-with-x58-moboh-x58-mobo/#findComment-2813772 Share on other sites

carlo_67
This EFi and for a future update, from Monterey to Ventura and Sonoma, if you have usb3 boot by putting mouse and keyboard in those ports, I have the old NECs and with the old kexts they did their job, the boot-arg according to your video card, I have nvidia gt 710 so I had to put a boot-arg, no_compat_check if you have an AMD put -amd_no_dgpu_accel we disable the SIP via recovery before updating, remember that legacy-boot should always be used I hope it goes well for you too😀 EFIx58.zip 4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/355938-how-to-use-opencore-on-legacy-bios-withttpswwwinsanelymaccomforumtopic355938-how-to-use-opencore-on-legacy-bios-with-x58-moboh-x58-mobo/#findComment-2830622 Share on other sites
