Hi,

Installed Ventura 13.2.1 successfully on a Dell T7820.

A lot of help from:

Dell T7820 config on Catalina,

Dell T5820 config on Ventura. Thanks to who have done it.

My config is:

Xeon Platinum 8249C - 192Gb 2666 Ram - 2 x 1Tb Nvme - Dell Pci-e Card 2xnvme- RX 590 8Gb - Fenvi 919 - Magic Trackpad.

USB map allows me to use all ports. All front have been mapped as USB2 and USB3. Card reader is working (but not showing as internal on Sys info)

Back ports are all working as USB2 and just one (top right) as USB3.

Everything working perfectly, including sleep and wake.

Few issues to fix (cosmetic)

1) Audio working but showing headphones as output (ALC3234 = ALC255). I'm using alcid=31. Is there a way to show as built in output or to map it? alcid=12 works. Built in out, Built in mic, Headphones are showing.

2) SD reader is working but not showing in System Information, but is working (and listed on USB). Tried GenericCardReaderFriend, RealtecCardReaderFriend but those kext are not helping. Any way to show it (maybe config.plist)?

3) HDD status led is off (I'm using nvme ssd). After waking from sleep, it blinks continuously (every 2 seconds). Tried with NVMeFix.kext and NvmExpressDxe.efi but they are not fixing. Anyone facing the same? Any way to fix?  HDD led settle by itself after a while.

Any idea or help well accepted.

Best hack I've ever had.

My next project is to upgrade to 2 CPU. Let see.

Good work!

As for audio, it's possible that none of the existing alcid schemes matches the Dell motherboard and that you have to make your own (the procedure has been described in a forum-which-shall-not-be-named-here).

This should be possible, but a problem here is the CPU. MacOS is limited to 64 threads, so if you go for a second 8249C (26 cores) you'll have to disable hyper-threading. Of course, this will enable I/O from the second CPU so it could still be worth it.

With hyper-threading I think the best option would be a pair of Gold 6231C or 6246R.

Good point. I was not aware of 64 threads limit.

I'll stick to 1 CPU then. Machine is almost perfect now.

I'll start again to play with the other one (dell t5810, which still need sleep to be fixed).
