I don't know which processor your laptop has so download CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) and make sure it supports at least SSE2. If yes, look if it supports SSE3.

If you only have SSE2, follow this guide guide: http://www.profit42.com/index.php/2006/12/...ot-on-intelamd/.

If you also support SSE3, you can also follow that guide, but skip the combo update part and just download the newest SSE3 install disk (make sure you download the right one, Intel/AMD).

EDIT: If you still use Windows XP, use the acronis part from this guide to create the dual boot or search this forum for chain0 if you wnat to use XP's bootloader)

xps' (laptops) comes with duo core (pretty positive abt that) so its sse3

I got xps 1210 and the only driver i needed was display driver

though with my 1210 sound is a bit of trouble as it doesnt come out of speakers but jack

and offcourse like everyone else my intel wireless doesnt work!

everything else is good

mike if you could tell us which xps you got with a bit of detail then we'll b able to tell u exact stuff

good one SnipinTerminator

Cheers
