I get an error at boot time about 50% of the time where the kernel fails to start one of the cpu's. I don't want to disable Hyperthreading support in my BIOS due to the fact that I still use Windows XP on occasion. Is there a kernel flag that can be set to overcome this annoyance or do I just have to live with it? Also, Is there a way to set the boot device through a flag or some other means as the kernel sometimes hangs at this point in the boot sequence for 30-60 seconds....

Just wondering
