Alex Wibowo
Hi, Apology if this is not the right place to ask. But i came here as directed from https://github.com/acidanthera/BrcmPatchRAM and https://github.com/acidanthera/BrcmPatchRAM/blob/master/README-Mac.md I have a Macbook Pro 2016, which currently runs Monterey 12.6.2. For some reason, the bluetooth stops working. I have tried various steps to fix it: * reset SMC, PRAM * reinstall Monterey * downgrade to older version (Big Sur, High Sierra) So far nothing works. If I go to system properties and bluetooth, I see the following: Bluetooth Controller: Address: NULL State: Off Chipset: BCM_4350C2 Discoverable: Off Firmware Version: v0 c0 Product ID: 0x0001 Supported services: 0x382039 < HFP AVRCP A2DP HID Braille AACP GATT Serial > Transport: UART Vendor ID: 0x004C (Apple) When I googled this, I stumbled upon BrPatchRAM. I understand that it is for hackintosh - but https://github.com/acidanthera/BrcmPatchRAM/blob/master/README-Mac.md seems to suggest that I can do it for Mac hardware too ? I've disable the SIP now, but I cant find the following files as suggested in that page : BrcmPatchRAM2.kext BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext All I can find in the repo are: BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext BrcmBluetoothInjectorLegacy.kext where can I find the correct files? Or more importantly, should I even use BrcmPatchRAM on my mac? I've tried bringing it to the store - and they pretty much dont want to fix it, saying that it is a 'vintage' mac (it is 2022, so it is about 6 years old). Thank you in advance! Slice
Take into account that since Monterey all bluetoothes stops working except combo-module BCM94360* no matter if you applied patches and kexts. Casey_S.J.
Someone recently tried an IOGear GBU521 USB Bluetooth 4.0 dongle with Monterey 12.5.1 on a Hackintosh. It worked by injecting the following kexts through OpenCore: BlueToolFixup.kext BrcmFirmwareData.kext BrcmPatchRAM3.kext As @Slice mentioned above, not sure if these kexts alone will work for you, but they are available here: https://github.com/acidanthera/BrcmPatchRAM/releases If you try to install them directly into /Library/Extensions, then BrcmFirmwareRepo should be used instead of BrcmFirmwareData. If your BCM_4350C2 still does not work, you may want to consider a Bluetooth USB dongle. Slice
See. What is it? My desktop has no bluetooth. This is fake bluetooth appeared since Monterey. Apple decided to work with virtual bluetoothes and ignore real USB bluetooth. Those kexts will not work. I have two USB bluetoothes and tested different methods to make them working. It is impossible. The only working is combo-module WiFi+bluetooth BCM94360. I think because of WiFi using the same radio channel.
