Getting Bluetooth working on Macbook running Vista

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but i have not been able to successfully run the macbook installation that bootcamp burns to disc. It simply crashes with an error saying the msi file it created in the users temp folder is missing or corrupt. Anyways, I managed to get just about everything working by extracting the drivers and manually setting them up in device manager. Thought this might save others some time because it took me forever to figure out how to get the bluetooth setup.

First to extract the drivers simply go into the command prompt and navigate to the cd drive. Type install macintosh drivers for windows xp.exe /v /a (notice the spaces after exe and v). Extract the drivers to a folder of your choice.

Once the drivers are extracted to you computer, go to the device manager and begin updating the drivers. The reason the Bluetooth took so long was because windows installed it's own driver for it and did not show it as an unknown device. If your Bluetooth adapter isn't working and you can't find where it is in device manager, expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers and find the USB Composite Devices. One of them is the Bluetooth adapter.

Right click and choose update driver.

Choose Browse My Computer for Driver.

Then choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers.

now click on the "Have Disc..." button and navigate to the drivers you extracted to your disc. In that folder choose the program files folder, and then the BthKicker folder. That driver should do the trick.

You can install the rest of the drivers the same way.

Don't forget to install InputRemapper. Not only can it remap the key board, but it can also manage the backlighting (both screen and keyboard) and give you control of the fan speeds so your macbook won't run so hot running Vista!
