ZELENOE YABLOKO
Hello, who has a Xeon processor or experience with it. Can you advise whether it is worth to buy it for Hackintosh now? Please advise the best quality and native builds for the Mac Os system. Thanks for your help and consideration! Thanks for your help and consideration! pretty sure you're asking too generally... Go look at the supported Xeon CPUs list first, then choose the one you'd like to use. You'd also need to select more things that are compatible with OSx86/Hackintosh, like motherboards, GPUs, etc... etorix
Xeon E3 / E-2000 / W-1000 can be hacked just like the corresponding Core CPU. "Real" Xeons can be more problematic, and cannot be recommended as a first hack. One can find build reports with Xeon E5—but those are quite old CPUs. For Xeon W-2000, there's a very informative thread about the chipset C422 here. X299 builds may also serve as guidance. Xeon Scalable / W-3000 is almost guaranteed to give some headaches. There are even success reports with embedded Xeon D-1500 (same remark as E5: these are Broadwell generation). I have not seen anything yet about Xeon D-2100. Admittedly, it is unclear why someone would want to run these server SoCs as a desktop.
