Auggie Posted December 7, 2006 Share Posted December 7, 2006 Hey everyone, I'm trying to configure my JaS 10.4.7 release on my HP to use Apple Mail to connect to my Otterbein College email account... I had it set up before, I'm almost sure (a while back...) but now I can't seem to get it to work... Here is the link to my school's instructions, they only have insturctions for Outlook ( ) and they don't tell us how to use Mail... I've tried to configure the account using every option available in Mail, but I have no success. Here is the link I'm using for my instructions: http://www.otterbein.edu/itweb/residencehalls/outlook.asp I'm pretty much using "ocexchange2003.otterbein.edu" as my server for all of the settings, as it's the only address given in the tut... is that wrong? When I try to configure it in Apple Mail, it just hangs at "checking connection to exchange server..." forever, and never finishes... Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! cbreaker Posted December 10, 2006 Share Posted December 10, 2006 OS X mail uses Outlook Web Access to access Exchange mailboxes. You'd need access to the OWA un-tainted by any custom front-end, if there was one available. OS X mail supports up to Exchange 2003 OWA. Incidentally, Entourage, the "Outlook" for Macintosh in their Office:mac 2004, also uses OWA. Outlook uses MAPI and RPC, so it's completely different.
