legionX
iMovie starts right up, but when I try to do anything with the window itself it just kinda freezes. The menus still work, but not any buttons or anything on the actual window. Also if I try to import a video it takes a really really long time, then locks up the window, also after importing a video most of the menu items are greyed out. Is there a fix for this? I've heard that many people on Hackintoshes use iMovie. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35232-imovie-freezes-after-starting/ Share on other sites

evlspcmk
my guess is that you dont have full support of your graphics card.. this always happened to me before i updated to 10.4.8 and installed natit to enable QE/CI now it works like a charm Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35232-imovie-freezes-after-starting/#findComment-252586 Share on other sites

evlspcmk
i think you have to update to 10.4.8 and natit is for nvidia cards so i forgot to mention that just search around and your bound to find a solution to enable QE & CI Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35232-imovie-freezes-after-starting/#findComment-252722 Share on other sites
dooododoo
iMovie is heavily dependent on Quicktime (at least i think). So if you don't have have QE/CI enabled, I suggest you get those working after a clean install of OS X and don't update your Quicktime. Then install your iLife and run iMovie and see if everything works fine.
