People, can you help me get all the devices on this notebook working?

I've installed Jas 10.4.8 with no additional kexts - have no sound, wifi working, ethernet card looks like working, but I didn't have time and place to test it at all... Netlink ADSL modem wasn't working properly (USB), or I couldn't configure it properly - help please.

The main problem is to get QE/CI, OpenGL and sound working properly, Wi-Fi will be really good, but not so needed as all above...

What video graphics chip?

What audio codec chip and audio controller chip?

What wi-fi chip?

What ethernet chip?

USB modems need specific drivers, so if there isn't one written for Intel OSX, it will never work.

For the above info, RTFM for the motherboard so we don't have to.

so... i thought, that people, that have internet, can look through it and find...

So, for those, who can't:

Video: Ati Mobility X1700 PCI-Express (tried BorisBadenov's patch - got "PLS reboot" screen

Chipset: Intel® 945PM + ICH7-M

if needed:

NorthBridge: 82945PM (MCH)

SouthBridge: 82801GBM (ICH7-M)

mmm... audio subsystem: Intel® High Definition Audio compliant audio, AC97 codec

ethernet: RTL8139

wi-fi: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG

ADSL modem has no compatibility with OSX... Coz it's russia-made ADSL modem...

so... i thought, that people, that have internet, can look through it and find...

We want to help you, not do all of your work for you. We have lifes too. Why should I spend 30 minutes trying to figure out what you have when you already know? You aren't paying for this service.

Is your JaS 10.4.8 from an install DVD (new kernel) or from a combo update to a previous version (old kernel)?

Video - x1700 is unusual. Don't remember anyone ever saying they had one before. You can try to go to the Video link in my signature and following what was done for x1400. Depends upon new 10.4.8 kernel.

Sound - not really enough information, but I'm going to take a wild guess. Follow the Azalia link in my signature. Go to the Appendix at the bottom first to get the correct numbers that I asked for. Then follow the guide at the top of the page.

Wi-fi - no support in OSX. Get an external USB wireless device or try to find an internal mini-PCIe card like the Dell Truemobile 1390 or 1450. Be sure first that your card is replaceable and is a mini-PCIe card.

Ethernet - Follow ethernet link in my signature and find 8139. Depends on new 10.4.8 kernel.

USB ADSL - probably won't work because of lack of a driver for OSX. Find an ethernet ADSL modem which doesn't need any special driver.

Thanks to all =) Tried Natit, tried hand-made natit installation (method), but got no result...

With Audio - where can I find some info? (system info tool in MS windows? will try it, or some other programs, if there won't, will post if something found)

Really bad with WiFi, should find some (L1 or D-link USB 2.0 adapter i think ~30$ - no problem)...

And one more question. What, if the same notebook (chipset, etc) will have x1600 videocard? Will the problem stay the same or not? (X1700 is very similar to x1600, except new technology (in making this hardware) is used there)
