David Boswell
Hi Everyone I have just a small question about the Flavour settings in the Misc > Entries >Flavour.. I have a multi boot system the runs MacOS, Windows, Linux mint, Garuda, and Kubuntu.. My system works 100% fine I have no issues. I just want to change the icons for the Linux installs. At the moment all 3 Linux installs show the same icon (the Linux penguin) My flavour setting are as follows.. Flavour ... String .... Linux Mint:Linux Kubuntu:Linux Garuda:Linux The icon name opencore uses for these is called HardDrive.icns .. I want to use some icons I downloaded from github called HardDrive_Mint.icns, HardDrive_Ubuntu.icns and HardDrive_Linux.icon. Because my entries just say Linux Mint:Linux and doesn't say HardDrive.icns. I was wondering what makes Opencore pick that icon to use with Linux? Is it as simple as just changing the entry to say Linux Mint:HardDrive_Mint.icns ? Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any help would be greatly appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350840-opencore-flavour-settings/ Share on other sites

Anto65
??? Upload the plist and theme folder ... if you want 🤷♂️ ( it is clear that you must have the various icons for the distros present in the theme folder ) Edited February 19, 2022 by antuneddu 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350840-opencore-flavour-settings/#findComment-2777074 Share on other sites

I have HardDrive_Mint.icns, HardDrive_Ubuntu.icns and HardDrive_Linux.icns But opencore still only picks HardDrive.icns for all 3 Linux distro's 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350840-opencore-flavour-settings/#findComment-2777075 Share on other sites
Anto65
😂 rename HardDrive_Mint.icns > Linux Mint.icns , rename HardDrive_...... Give it the same name you gave in the entries, like in the example here https://www.insanelymac.com/uploads/monthly_2022_02/724483983_111Schermata2022-02-19alle06_13.png.58ef73bb907f866f0c7a9326a6127327.png Edited February 19, 2022 by antuneddu 2 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350840-opencore-flavour-settings/#findComment-2777076 Share on other sites

miliuco
@David Boswell I wasn't getting your problem right. But when I read the last @antuneddu post I understood it, follow their instructions. The icon must be named the same as the item included in the Flavour property. E. g., if Flavour = LinuxMint: Linux, the icon must be called Linux Mint.icns (first choice) or Linux.icns, if there are no icons with that name, OpenCore picks up the default icon for file systems on disk that is HardDrive.icns.
