Rammjet
I want to ask about the iso again. There are two 10.4.8 iso's. One is Intel SSE3 only and the other is AMD only - named "MacOSX_10.4.8DVD AMD SSE3 TEST 1". If you are not using that iso, then you must be using the Intel iso and I wouldn't expect it to boot. oneoone
heres the nfo file from the one Im using: This is a SSE3 10.4.8 install DVD with the Darwin 8.8.1 kernel designed by Semthex. It should work with AMD and Intel processors but SSE3 capable only. It installs fine with VMware without "kernel stack error", nevertheless it is always necessary to repair SMB/CIFS sharings with the enclosed patch. It is possible to upgrade from the 10.4.7 install DVD. I enclosed the patch twice : - the .dmg file which has to be copied on your MAC disk in order to be installed. - as I was unable to copy it without SMB sharing, I made an iso which can be mounted as a CD drive so that it is possible to install it. It is the first release of this DVD so as told by the author some chipsets could not be supported. Thanks to Semthex, JaS and Myzar Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35077-fails-to-install-on-pavillion-amd/#findComment-249833 Share on other sites
