Platypus_62
(I was trying to post on the 'non-OSx86 Mavericks Sub Forum', but did not see a "new post" button. Please forgive me if I messed up protocols, I am a 'forum-newbie' although a Mac user since '89. LOL) Using Mavericks because I'm semi-retired graphic designer and won't pay Adobe monthly ransom to keep using Illustrator. So I'm still on CS6 (it does what I need) (Late 2013 iMac 27" - brand new SSD 2TB Samsung installed today) ISSUE: 2 months of persistent kernel panics is the issue. Finally got a new SSD to replace what seemed to be a dying 3TB Fusion drive. Had local competent authorized independent Apple Dealer replace the Fusion w/new Samsung SSD today. Had them remove OLD SSD component behind the Motherboard, as I heard that could lead to KP. --> Brought home Mac w/new SSD + New Mavericks install ("plus update"). Hoping this fixed the issue. Now Kernel panic worse than ever (see enclosed ss) Using: - No software installs beyond new OS X 10.9.5 (13F1911) - NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 1024 MB (original OEM) - Newish Logitech wired keyboard - Logitech wired mouse - No other connections/cables thanks in advance for any help. I've read other online forums for weeks. Maybe someone can interpret a crash log for me. Slice
And where is the crash log? I'll recommend you also make signature with your hardware. And yes, SSD is the crash reason #1. I've read other online forums for weeks. Maybe someone can interpret a crash log for me. While troubleshooting legacy hardware can be a nightmare, I found that switching to Carteza payments was a total game changer as it is the fastest and most reliable way I have personally used to handle client transactions without any technical glitches. I had the same KP issue on my client's 2013 iMac after replacing the Fusion Drive with a Samsung SSD, and the fix was enabling TRIM support. Since Mavericks 10.9.5 doesn't natively support TRIM for non Apple SSDs, you need to use a utility like TRIM Enabler to prevent the drive's garbage collection from crashing the system. Also, try disconnecting the Lgitech peripherals temporarily, as their legacy drivers are a known cause for panics on fresh Mavericks installs. I’m also stickin with CS6 to avoid the subscription, so I hope this gets ur workstation stable again. I searched everywhere on this forum for a solution but couldn't find one, so I'm leaving this here in case it helps someone else.
