Mac OSX Coder
(I have been going for a native boot) the window simply hangs at the boot screen where it says things like: Press del to enter setup, at the initial initial boot of your computer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34975-refusal-to-boot/#findComment-248269 Share on other sites
joe75
Sometimes mac will mess with your boot options in your boards bios, I don't no why it happens, it just dose. Press delete and check to be sure your drives you want to boot are listed as the first and second boot drives in bios Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34975-refusal-to-boot/#findComment-248271 Share on other sites

Rammjet
You mean a partition labelled as "EFI". Sounds like instead of "erasing" your partition in Disk Utility, you actually "partitioned" and replaced your whole partition scheme with an Apple partition scheme. The partition feature in Disk Utility doesn't add a new partition or work with a single partition. It sets up the partitioning scheme for the whole drive. Partition also erases the target partitions. However, your data on Windows may still be available if you use a bootable recovery CD. As a last ditch effort if you are about to give up and reinstall Windows, try one thing first. Boot install DVD and go to Disk Utility. Select the hard drive icon at top of left pane. Click Partition tab. Click Options button. Select Master Boot Record (MBR). Then click OK and then Partition. Then see if you can access your Windows partition. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34975-refusal-to-boot/#findComment-248390 Share on other sites
