cockmaster
I've tried a number of different install images on my [socket 754] Sempron 2800+ on a VIA KT800-based AOpen AK-86L, Geforce4, etc. JaS 10.4.6 works great on my Intel-based laptop, but I've never quite had a working install on the AMD desktop. I've tried the following install disks: JaS 10.4.6 JaS 10.4.7 Myzar 10.4.4/10.4.5 10.4.5 'Universal' (hah!) The latest is the Myzar 10.4.4/5. It freezes during installation. JaS 10.4.7 gets me the EBIOS error, so I could easily reburn it and try again. I'm installing on a partition of a PATA drive. At this point, I'm just wondering what the recommended install disk is for my hardware or if anyone has any specific installation advice for this platform. I'm half leaning towards just buying Intel hardware since this has been such a pain, but ideally, I'd like to get this setup working. Rammjet
How about using VMWare to install to your hard drive. You won't need to use VMWare to run OSX after installation: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=11314 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34920-best-iso-for-sse2amdvianvidia/#findComment-247935 Share on other sites
cockmaster
I have tried VMWare from Ubuntu, which gave me similar install issues using the JaS 10.4.6 disc. I suppose I should give it a go from Windows as well, who knows...any suggested release for this method?
