SempronX
Has anybody got any version of osx86 to work on a nforce 4 (intel version) motherboard. These boards i think are quite rare but they do exist. No matter which osx i download i cannot get any to install. PROBLEMS - 1 - Computer reboots just as the kernel starts to load. 2 - The reboot happens just as the second line of text appears "loading darwin" so because of this reboot it is impossible to install macosx or even boot in -v -x or cpus=1. 3 - disk that do this 10.4.8 jas - 10.4.8 amd test1 - 10.4.6 myzar - 10.4.6 goatsecs - 10.4.7 jas Does anybody know why this happens? It seems like a kernel stack fault but i could be wrong? XP works fine on my machine so i know that it isnt a faulty board. Please drop any tips you have. My setup is ................... Rammjet
If you see the message to "press any key to install" or "F8 for options", press F8 and enter your boot options. Otherwise, might try to install via VMWare. Might be able to run OSX without VMWare after installation: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=11314 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34899-nforce-4-intel-version/#findComment-247780 Share on other sites

DaemonES
OK, I think problem in AppleACPIPlatform.kext which actually proprietary, so it seems it's not real to run OSX in native on this board. Rammjet
OK, I think problem in AppleACPIPlatform.kext which actually proprietary, so it seems it's not real to run OSX in native on this board. If he doesn't even get to the point of choosing to "press any key to install" or "press F8 for boot options", he hasn't yet loaded any kexts or the kernel. He is still in the boot files being read by BIOS (the file named "boot" to be exact). AFTER he presses any key or AFTER he presses F8 and enters boot options, then the kernel and kexts are loaded. Aren't they? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34899-nforce-4-intel-version/#findComment-247868 Share on other sites
SempronX
Yes my machine is restarting before i get the option to "press any key to install" or "press F8 for boot options". I know the dvd's are fine because i have friends who have used the same dvd's without any problems and they are running osx86 on amd intel and even a sempron Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34899-nforce-4-intel-version/#findComment-247912 Share on other sites
