NET
make a copy of your 10.4.7 kexts especialy the ApplePS2...something.KEXT and put it back to the extensions folder of your new install, my 10.4.8 was notworking with my keyboard and trackpad , and asking to connect the ones to start system, but i have just booted my lappy from 10.4.7 install dvd with -s switch while boot prompt, and in single mode i've mounted the filesytem to r/w mode /sbin/mount -uw / than i have puted the ps2 kext in extensions folder, delate the extensions.kextcache, and extensions.mkext, fix the permisions with diskutility and reboot, you should have your ps2/usb mouse working Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34897-problems-with-1048-installation/#findComment-253593 Share on other sites

I am very disappointed coz I am die hard lover of OS X . don't be if problems with APIC while booting (booting stops just afther a few lines on screen withh message about apic) trye booting with cpus=1 flag (afther install you need to boot with cpus=1 and delate the CPU ACPI kext (find one) than delate the kextcache and mkext files in library folder reboot and all wors fine, sometimes ps2 port is not working so you may need to do some fixes as i have written before disable the legacy usb if you can in bios, and disable the PCCard slot if you have/can in bios and trye booting with cpus=1 -v or cpus=1 -v -x and read what's wrong (verbose mode -v will help you) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34897-problems-with-1048-installation/#findComment-253595 Share on other sites
