Question - Upgrade to 0.6.8 fails. Stable and happy on 0.6.2. What is the advantage of staying on the latest build of OpenCore?

I've spend the better part of the last 4 days getting dual boot, audio, and other issues successfully resolved.  I'm wonder if it is worth trying to stay current with the latest OpenCore build?  Advantages?  Disadvantages?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

This is a Comet Lake motherboard.  Thanks for the tip about post continuity.  I will do so in the future, I am new here.

alcid=7 is working well for me.

ran the sanity check and the OC configurator validation/config check.  Everything is fine

I will check the SetupVirtualMap and report back.  Thank you!.

I used SSDT Time to create machine specific SSDTs after running on Windows10 to create a DSDT.  Successfully added them to my 0.6.2 EFI.

Also added them to my test 0.6.8 EFI and it goes all the way past the OpenCanopy picker and stops with a black screen.  I can hear system chime if I press any key on the keyboard though.

I'm quite confused as to why it won't complete the boot process in 0.6.8.

The issues resolved after I did the following:

1.   Used SSDT Time to create my own machine specific SSDTs

2.  Updated my BIOS to latest version for my ASUS Prime z490p motherboard

3.  Used OpenCore Configurator to validate and update NVMEfix and XHCIfix drivers

4.  Used the DisableRtcChecksum quirk

5.  Reset NVRAM and rebooted into the new EFI/config.plist

Everything works now.
