Whats going on everyone,

First off, i'd like to say that this site rocks.

Im new to macs and find myself addicted to this site.

Anywho, i have a problem and was wondering if someone could lend a helping hand.

I recently purchased a macbook 2ghz intel core duo w/ 1 GB Ram from a friend of a friend.

Now this person left the country and i have no way of getting in contact with him. The problem is the person had a password on his MAC. Regardless, i wanted to format the thing immediately, but every version of OS X i get, it tells me its not the right version.

When i try to install OS X 10.4 it says 'MAC OS X 10.4 cannot be installed on this machine'

Then i tried installing OS X86 and that didn't work either. I read later that OS X86 is strictly for PCs wanting to run MAC. Not sure if thats true or not. Either way, when i did try to install that version, i rebooted, held C and got to a black screen with a white flashing cursor. I waited for over 10 mins and nothing happened.

Regardless, can someone PLEASE tell me what version of OS X i need to get my hands on so that i can reformat this thing????

Thanks
