snifferdog Posted October 26, 2020 Share Posted October 26, 2020 (edited) I used the OpenCore Coffeelake guide (https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/config.plist/coffee-lake.html) to construct the config.plist file attached to this post and I thought I would share. My CPU is a Core i5-8600, but other Coffeelake CPUs will likely work as well. Audio and networking are working fine, but waking from Sleep is a bit hit-and-miss. If I ever solve this I will post back here. Don't forget to use GenSMBIOS to generate your own serial number etc, and paste these into file I provided - search the file for FILL ME IN to locate the entries you need to change or see: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/config.plist/coffee-lake.html#platforminfo for details. You will also need some kexts and EFI drivers. These are referenced in the attached file, or you can consult the above guide. Finally, run the 'sanity checker' on your finished config.plist here: https://opencore.slowgeek.com/, and fix any issues it reports. snifferdog Posted September 16, 2021 Author Share Posted September 16, 2021 (edited) Finally fixed sleep! I needed to change my SMBIOS from MacBookPro15,3 (which I know was wrong) to iMac19,1. Now, sleep works perfectly. I am using integrated graphics; I don't have a discrete graphics card. The only thing (that I care about) that still doesn't work is letting the disks spin down ('Put hard disks to sleep when possible'). If I enable this option, the drives sometimes won't spin up again, causing kernel panics or hanging the whole machine. ----- Other news: moved on to OpenCore 0.7.3 (the latest, at time of writing), which involved some changes to my config.plist. Also updated to the latest version of the kexts I am using (lilu, evergreen, etc). My EFI folder is attached. I am currently running Big Sur 11.6. The Monterey Beta also works (tested with Beta 5). Important note: The config.plist file included here assumes that you have unlocked CFG Lock in your BIOS. If you don't do that then macOS won't boot. On the GA-Z370, you cannot do that through the setup screens so you have to patch the BIOS instead. To achieve this, I have added CFGLock.efi to the Tools folder and boot menu. If this doesn't work for you for some reason (or you don't want to do it), then edit config.plist to set AppleCpuPmCfgLock and AppleXcpmCfgLock to true. That might, however, impact the power management on your Hackintosh. Also, the latest BIOS that works for me is F10. With later versions, macOS will not boot.
