Marky Mark
I am trying to install JaS 10.4.7 with an A-Open Ax4BS Pro m/b with Intel 845S chipset / socket 478 and a 2.4 ghz Celeron chip with SSE2. I have 1.25 gigs of SDRAM PC133 RAM, an 80gig Western Digital HDD and an ATI All-in-Wonder 128 Pro. When I try to customize the installation to deselect SSE3 & AMD patches the only patch that is NOT 0 bytes is the AMD kernel patch. All the others are 0. I can't de-select any of the patches, it either lets me install ALL of them or NONE of them. Do I have a bad copy of the installation DVD? I have the JaS 10.4.7 repack.iso. PLEASE HELP!!!!! Rammjet
Are you installing over top of a previous installation? Early in the installation, did you go to Disk Utility and erase your partition as MacOS Extended Journaled? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=4499 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34521-cant-de-select-which-patches-to-choose/#findComment-244685 Share on other sites
Marky Mark
I think it was an NTFS drive then it asked me to change the file system & I did that to OSX Extended Journal possibly. I'm not even completely sure what that even means. I am REAL NEW to OS X. I'm not even completely sure what that even means. I am REAL NEW to OS X. Nothing ASKS you to do that. When you start the installation, you select a language and proceed until you have to select a partition. Then you stop and go to the Utilities menu and select Disk Utility. Click on your partition on the left. On the right, click the Erase tab and then give the partition a name, make sure it is set to MacOS Extended Journaled and click the Erase button. Quit Disk Utility. Select your partition in the installer. Go to the install pane and do the Customize thing. Then install. MacOS Extended Journaled is the official name for the Mac format scheme known as HFS+ (Hierarchal File System +) just like NTFS (NT File System) or FAT32 (File Allocation Table 32).
