meetloaf13
Hello all, I first want to thank everyone for the many existing threads that have enabled me to get OSX Catalina up and running in VMWare with iMessage working (call to apple support required). I've spend many many hours getting to this point, but I'm kind of an an impasse. Right now I have VMWare Workstation Player 15.5.6 Running OSX 10.15.3 and working iMessage. The issue I'm having is clipboard sharing (it doesn't show up as an option). I am on Windows 10 x64 1909. I don't know if it is an issue with no having VMWare Pro, or perhaps my VMWare tools is old or not installing properly. So I feel like I have the following options, both of which I need some guidance on: 1) Fix the VMWare Tools (I just did a reinstall of VMWare Tools, and Shared Folders now works) 2) Convert my VMWare machine to VirtualBox (where I am a little more familiar) - Is there a file in VirtualBox similar to the .vmx file in VMWare, where I can change the serial number and related IDs? If so, I can fire up catalina in VirtualBox and use that option - I tried converting the VMware machine to VirtualBox using OVFTool, and it seemed to convert properly, but I couldn't get it to boot Thank you in advance for any guidance! UPDATE: I stumbled upon a solution that I may have missed, updating here for future searchers. This allows sharing of TEXT only, as far as I can tell. Add the following lines to your .vmx file: Quote isolation.tools.copy.disable = "FALSE" isolation.tools.dnd.disable = "FALSE" isolation.tools.paste.disable = "FALSE" isolation.tools.hgfs.disable = "FALSE" (may already be set) I wish I could share screenshots I make in windows saved to the windows clipboard, this is the functionality I'm really hoping to have. I know I can move .jpgs and the like via shared folders.
