Hi,

I have a copy of MacOS X Tiger x86 configured to run on vmware.

Here is a list of files that I have

-> floppy.flp

-> tiger-x86.nvram

-> tiger-x86.vmdk

-> tiger-x86.vmsd

-> tiger-x86.vmx

-> tiger-x86-flat.img

When i boot the system on vmware, it always stuck at the stage where it shows an apple and a circle (progress bar type of thing) below it. I waited for nearly an hour but nothing else happen.

it went through the part where it says

Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.122

.......

Then it went on to the page with an apple and the circle of progress bar and stuck there.

Can someone please help me on this

thanks

You're running on an standard Athlon XP processor - it doesn't support either SSE2 or SSE3 - so your out there on both counts. I have the same problem on my desktop - although my laptop is an only P4-M so has SSE2 and runs (sort of) fine.

Ive got a AMD Athlon XP 3000+, and it gives me the same problem.

Why?

Ive got sse2, and dont try to tell me I dont, because ive checked my processors data sheet.

Sorry, but while still being a good processor, the Athlon XP 3000+ doesn't have SSE2, because that wasn't implemented untill the Athlon64 and up. This explains your failure to boot os X imo.
ic ... thanks for the clarification.

I see you have Linux & XP, you can try to recompile qemu to run OSX86:

http://forum.osx86project.org/lofiversion/....php/t2845.html

qemu is a complete "virtual PC" unlike VMware so it should also work on your AthlonXP.

P.S: If you compile it for Linux you will also find a kernel modul "QEMU Accelerator Module" witch speed up your virtual PC:

http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/qemu-accel.html

It's 3 times faster as qemu on Win/Lin without this module. This module only exist for Linux.

Good luck
