Marky Mark
H E L P!!!!!! I am trying to install JaS 10.4.7 with an A-Open Ax4BS Pro m/b with Intel 845S chipset and socket 478 and a 2.4 ghz Celeron chip with SSE2. I have 1.25 gigs of SDRAM PC133 RAM, an 80gig Western Digital HDD and an ATI All-in-Wonder 128 Pro. I can boot from the DVD and go through the installation until it seems to finish and ask me to restart. At that point the restart icon becomes highlighted and the mouse pointer disappears. I can't hit any button to restart it and it will hang on that screen til I power down using the power button. When I restart and take the DVD out it comes up with a splash screen of the apple & then a small circle & line through it appears and it won't finish loading. I am using a normal windows keyboard and a USB optical mouse plugged through the ps/2 input. What could be causing it to freeze up right before finishing the installation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Rammjet
Don't know about the freeze, but during installation, before clicking the Install button, first click the Customize button and choose packages for your computer. Click the little arrow beside the patches category to reveal individual patches. Choose Intel or AMD patches, not both. Choose SSE2 or SSE3, not both, depending upon the capability of your processor. Choose the correct Combo update to get the latest version of OSX. Choose other packages only if you are sure your computer can use them.
Marky Mark
Thank you so much. I'll try that tonight, I have tried going into the customize button but I think I clicked on all the patches. Should I only click the ones I need then, obviously?
