gobarrientos Posted June 3, 2020 Share Posted June 3, 2020 Hello everyone, after trying alot I could manage to install High Sierra in my old computer, here is the configuration of the computer: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P / 8GB RAM Video: ATI AMD HD5870 1Gb Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad QX9650 (Yorkfield) SSE 4.1 supported Usual setup in BIOS: Diables: Floppy, Serial, Parallel port AHCI for SATA controllers Bootloader: Clover Legacy EFI, options -v -nv_disable=1 -no_compat_check DSDT: None Drivers: OpenUsbKbDxe.efi / HfsPlusLegacy.efi / UsbMouseDxe.efi / Kexts: AppleALC / VirtualSMC / Lilu / WhatheverGreen / RealtekRTL8111 / USBinjectall My system keeps rebooting at the point in the image... any ideas? thanks in advance! This being said, I'm not sure Radeon HD5870 remained fully supported in High Sierra. It's supposed to be but I see a lot of people reported issues with it and had to roll back Sierra's AMD graphics kexts to get the card working. You may want to replace that old card by something more recent and fully supported. NB: Why use nv_disable=1 boot arg? You don't even have an nVidia graphics card!
