sscotti
I've been out of the loop with OS X for a bit, using Windows and LINUX for work and otherwise, although a Mac user at heart. I'm about ready to pop for a new computer and I'm interested in getting a PC with an Intel Core Duo E6400 chip and various components. I'm quite certain it will run Windows (even Vista?) and LINUX (I'm using UBUNTU) just fine, but I'm also curious about installing OS X on it, officially or not. I do have a couple of copies of OS X around, tiger and panther that I purchased a while back. Is it possible and worth it to install OS X on my new machine if I go that route? Otherwise, for a bit more money I would probably by an iMac and run OS X and windows that way, although it would take a bit to get up to speed running LINUX I think. Any thought, advice. I'd rather pick up a Windows machine and get OS X running on it, but I could go back to Mac hardware for a good reason. I was looking to save a little money my sticking with Windows hardware. Rammjet
You can install OSX on your machine but you cannot use any of the CD/DVD's from Apple. You need to find and download a patched install DVD.
Jon Carlson
Using Parallels on OSX, I've been able to install both Windows and Kubuntu Linux. It's is very nice, and it's only $70-$80 - Jon
