I have a problem with UHD 630 - device ID 0x3E91

macOS 10.15.4

Clover 5117

CPU is i3-8100

Using HDMI port

I have kext patches

  • Change DP to HDMI (for HDMI audio) on right port (6)
  • Eliminate PAVP/HDCP freeze

Also use -disablegfxfirmware boot arg.

Model ID iMac 18,1

After system boots, I briefly see the display, and then the monitor turns off (as if to sleep mode).  After a few seconds I turn the monitor power button off, then on again, and click the mouse a few times.  The display comes back after a little flicker.

This has been going on in some variation for several OS versions since some time in Mojave.

The problem persists if I install latest Lilu/WhateverGreen - so this isn't some additional issue fixed by these kexts.

Any ideas?

FYI, I solved this problem by switching from Model ID iMac18,1 to Model ID iMac19,2.  Apparently one of the iMac19,2 had the exact CPU i3-8100, so now graphics works just right.
